The “Moodler” was present in Moscow for Edcrunch, a “unique platform” for everyone interested in the development of the world’s education. He talked about the recent developments in Moodle and the Moodle community, with lessons for the global learning community as a whole.

Dougiamas was joined by other important figures in the learning industry. Among them Anant Agrawal, CEO of EdX; Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, Google Education Evangelist Jaime Casap, FutureLearn CEO Simon Nelson, and even the Deputy Prime Minister and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Apart from an always relevant remix of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Neoclubber-style, Wales and Wikipedia stole the social media attention.

EdCrunch was also a platform for innovators and entrepreneurs. A Young Entrepreneur contest for students, the award ceremony of the KIVO 2016 Educational Innovation Contest, and an “EdHack” IT for learning marathon, brought light you upcoming tech learning initiatives happening around the world.
