US Moot heads West (to Sonoma!) July 12-14th 2011 #MootusCA11 (call for papers is NOW open)

This year’s US Moot will be held in Sonoma, California (last year it was in Austin, TX) on July 12th through 14th [].   Already the 2nd keynote speaker (other than Moodle lead developer and founder, Martin Dougiamas) has been announced as David Wiley.  Wiley is a dynamic professor and entrepreneur and has worked to advanced online education in many capacities, including Chief Openness Officer of Flat World Knowledge, a leader in open text books.

According to the site,

Join Moodle’s founder, Martin Dougiamas, and your colleagues in the Sonoma Wine Country for an inspiring and enriching 2-day conference. Collaborate with K12 and higher education colleagues using Moodle for blended and online instruction. From faculty using Moodle for student engagement to systems administrators tuning servers for optimal performance, this conference provides opportunities for everyone to enhance their use of this leading open source Learning Management System.

In this year’s conference, sessions will highlight the release of Moodle v2.0 and lessons learned from campus transitions to Moodle. Newbies, mavens, and enthusiasts are welcome!
