Humboldt State Information Technology Services has created a series of 4 videos that help to highlight some of the features introduced in Moodle 2.8. Each video is about 6 minutes and is designed to be a primer of the differences in Moodle 2.8 compared to earlier versions. The differences highlighted can be generalized for other sites, but some of the info will pertain only to Humboldt users.
New features highlighted? Navigation, user menu, docking blocks, editing assignments, gradebook and more.
One cool feature I haven’t seen before is the pervasive and floating “save and return to course”, “save and display” and “cancel” which are available as a fixed option on the screen to eliminate the need to scroll when setting up new activities and resources. Pretty slick feature.
