Edutechnica has pretty interesting dataset that they’ve compiled about the LMS market for institutions with greater than 800 FTE (full time equivalent students). This is the 2nd annual release of the data, in 2013 we looked at it here.

When comparing 2013 and 2014, Moodle and Canvas both see a sizeable jump in market share while D2L, Blackboard, Angel and Sakai see a dip in total numbers. The data is also broken down between english speaking countries (US, Canada, UK and Australia) which exposes interesting trends that contrast these countries adoptions (Moodle is much higher usage by % in Canada, UK and Australia according to the data).

If you’re interested in the reports check out 2013 or 2014. Interesting takes on the data are also available at E-Literate (2013, 2014).
