Moodle – the most popular open source Learning Management System has collaborated with NextCloud along with DeiC, regio iT, the TU Berlin and Univention to bring out the Nextcloud Education Edition.
Nextcloud is free and open source client side software for creating and using file hosting services. It is an actively maintained fork of OwnCloud. Built on the NextCloud 12, the education edition delivers the capabilities which are very much in demand in the educational market like Moodle and Zenodo integration, ORCID authentication, a Dashboard app and many more.

NextCloud Education Edition Apps:

The Nextcloud education edition is a collection of apps available with Nextcloud 12.0.1. Here is a list of all the apps:

The Moodle integration requires installing an app on the Moodle side, adapted from work done by Moodle community members and the University of Muenster. It then offers users the ability to get access to files from Nextcloud, adding, removing or sharing them from within Moodle.
On the occasion of the release of NextCloud Education Edition, Dr. Martin Dougiamas – CEO & Founder of Moodle, commented:
