We highlighted the UBath FAQs a few months ago [link].  It was an awesome resource then and still remains so today.  It covers some of the most common Moodle questions and highlights them in a well organized and succinct way.

Now you can get a jump on providing users your own FAQs because the University of Bath is giving their FAQ information away!

According to Andy Ramsden‘s post [],

Well, we’ve only gone and done it…

We’ve downloaded our all the FAQs in our Moodle database (, and made it available from – you’ll need to install PHPMyFAQ (2.0.6 at least) –

This is in two file types, an SQL file, with user data removed, which can be imported in PHPMyFAQ (2.0.6, at least), and an XML file containing the questions, for good measure.

The FAQs are available as a download and work on the PHPMyFAQ framework (also available for free; if you’re using Bluehost which provides SimpleScripts as an installation utility you’ll find it listed and available as well for assisted installation!).  It might take some technical wrangling to get up and running, but it’s a great opportunity to create a foundation for learning in and around your own Moodle site.

Cheers and kudos to the University for sharing these resources.
