From the Editor – 300 posts and counting: the state of Moodlenews

I registered back in November 2009 and by December I was off to the races.  It’s been a lot of fun and by my stats Moodlenews has contributed nearly 17 posts a week pertaining to Moodle on which 225 comments and link-backs have been logged.  The site has also accumulated 37,000 pageviews since analytics were installed.

No major changes in scope or objectives are planned for the near future.  As always I’m looking for cool Moodle info, ideas, writers and resources to share and it’s my hope that I can continue to sustain a growth trajectory that is “up and to the right”.

Perhaps my favorite aspect of Moodlenews is the growing community involvement and discourse on the site.  From new product releases, to sharing course resources, to #Moodlewishes and the state of Moodle development: it a joy every time someone drops by to comment, reflects on my posts elsewhere or pings me online via twitter or email.  Keep the feedback coming.

I would like to thank a few people, specifically the kind folks at who took a chance and sponsored us at (they covered the hosting +), Mel Benson (@moodlerific), @moodlenator, Kristian Still, Dan Humpherson, Tomaz Lasic (and everyone at HQ), countless others, and the Moodleverse for sending me articles, recaps and links to share with the community.

Especially, I’d like to thank all of the developers who’ve worked on Moodle to create something that can grow, innovate and evolve based on the needs of education.

On that note, I’m signing off for the weekend to enjoy the holiday AND to relocate from Vermont to Washington DC.  Moodlenews will return 6/2 (or sooner if I can’t help myself).
