In a recent post on Moodle.org forum Tim Hunt posted a thread about the new improvements done in the moodle Quiz. Nearly about two years ago, Tim Hunt proposed some improvements to the Moodle quiz edit page. (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=231180)
Out of the all improvements, item no-2 Question Dependencies (Tracker Issue: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-40990) is included in this week’s latest dev version of Moodle 2.9
By this improvement the student will not be able to attempt the next question until they have answered the current one. Here is what the student will see:

Student can't attempt the next question until they have answered the current one.

And, you have to set it up like this in the quiz editing page:

Apart from this small but useful feature, there are few more to come in Moodle 2.9. May be in the next few weeks we will be able to have other improvements like:
4. Repeating a question in-situ (Tracker issue: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-40992)
1. Breaking up a quiz into section (Tracker Issue: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-40988)
Thanks Tim for all such nice improvements.
