read onlyIf you’re like me, you’re following loads of Moodle.org discussion forums and getting regular updates from those forum every day. It’s a great way to stay on top of all of the developments in Moodle and the discussions that I care about. Unfortunately due to “unexpected disaster which occurred to the cluster that is running Moodle.org” the ability to post new forums has been turned off and the site is in Read-only mode (see the brief post by Helen Foster: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=243093).

Even more unfortunately is that the restored copy of Moodle.org is from October 19th so there are lots of posts that have simply dissapeared (even one of my own). Hope the interactive community is restored soon.

  1. Pity Moodle H/O isn’t providing regular updates on the recovery process and any dates when they expect to be live again…

And what really happened? What kind of disaster puts you offline for over a week?

  2. And what message doeos it send out about the disaster recovery strategy that’s (not?) in place at Moodle H/O?

  3. I agree since it has now been a full week since the disaster it would be nice to know what is the projected time for the repair and when we will be able to post questions.
