If you’re looking to add a way for students/users to select more than one option as part of the user profile field, such as highlighting all of their organizational affiliations or certifications, the Multi Select Menu Custom User Profile Field plugin might be up your alley.
The Custom Field provides a way for you to configure a user profile field where the users can select multiple options of your predetermined options. For example, I have a site where users can be certified in three different ways, but any single user could have one, two or all three of the certifications. With this plugin available I can update each certified student with the proper profile fields and then use that to search for users and communicate with them.
Currently there are limited user profile fields available to choose from, multiselect is not one of them. For user fields you can configure the following to your needs:
- Checkbox
- Date/Time
- Menu of Choices (select one)
- Text area (a paragraph of text)
- Text input (a short line of text)
