Julian Ridden posted a quick note to all registered users of the iMoot2010 site [link] as a notice that the new iMoot site is now open for business.  This 2nd annual iMoot event is once again 100% online and will bring presenters from around the world together virtually to share Moodle best practices, stories and very, very cool customization tricks and tips.

I was able to both attend and present at last year’s iMoot (on the topic of utilizing standard Moodle installations for selling courses via Paypal) and I had a really great time chatting with my attendees, getting great feedback and of course attending the dozens of great presentations at my convenience (all from my desk).  You can watch all of last year’s presentations too, just visit

This year is sure to be bigger and better.  According to Julian,

It has been just over a year and how time has flown. But it is that time again, time to announce the official launch of iMoot2011.

With a new iMoot event comes a new site. Please make sure to point your browser to to check out our new site. The forums are operational and registrations are open, this year with earlybird rates for those who want to get in before the rush.

We have also opened up our “Call for Presentations” as a Moodle Moot is for naught without content. Click here for details of the new streams that are available.

Lastly, a comment that we heard over and over again last year was “I didn’t know iMoot was on”. We would love to avoid this issue this year. We would like to encourage you to share the word on your internal and online social networks so that more can be aware (and hopefully join in) with iMoot in 2011. We have setup Facebook and LinkedIn pages to help in this. You can also follow the official Twitter feed.

This will be the last post on the iMoot 2010 site and we look forward to seeing you at iMoot 2011.

  1. Thanks for the post. The biggest complaint we received last year was “I didn’t know it was on!”. So the more people we can spread the news to, the better.

If anyone has ideas on how we can best get the word out, please let us know either here in the comments or on our forums.

    Hope to see you there.
