Yesterday I pitched a few tactics and ideas to help prevent and thwart cheating and heighten security in online courses. We talked about “cheatability”, proctoring, examination test banks, 3rd party validation, ID verification, and much more. It was a great group of people who came and joined the discussion.

I also recreated the “Cheatability” Quiz (originally created and shared by Jared Stein) for the participants to take and have that file available as a Gift format upload if you’re interested in administering the quiz to your own faculty and peers. There’s no “right” score, but my recommendation is that you should strive (for an online course) to have at least 50% of the questions “correct” as scored by Moodle.
